We're excited to offer a new, large diameter wheel option! We've spent a few months testing these wheels out ourselves to make sure we were happy with their quality, ease of cleaning, etc. With the exception of some quite over-engineered attachment hardware* we're really pleased with them.

Considerations

Don't drop it. We haven't had one crack yet, but that would suck.
They don't nest together (in case you are storing multiple).
Cost - these are more of an investment - and should last the whole life of your hedgehog, and beyond.

Dimensions

These wheels are big! Please check the dimensions and compare to your enclosure size before purchasing. You will need about a 15 x 10.5" footprint and 16" height clearance for this wheel.

Two height adjustment options: lower setting has the wheel surface about 0.5" from the ground, the higher setting is about 1.25" from the ground.

Stand Options

Our acrylic wheels currently come with a PVC stand. We are in the process of prototyping an acrylic stand with a local company, and hope to offer it as an upgrade in the near future!

They do fit on the typical wheel stands using a 5/16ths bolt diameter, so you may be able to retrofit an existing stand - you'll need a hole drilled about 8.25" high on the upright support.

*We had to make modifications and use extra parts to make these heavy wheels sturdy, as compared to their intended flimsy assembly from the manufacturer. If we get good feedback and order more, we'll try to improve the overall assembly to be streamlined and less wasteful.
